Medical Education

Based in Wichita, Kansas, Kansas Health Science Center (KHSC) is a nonprofit organization committed to training well-prepared physicians and health care leaders who will positively contribute to the overall well-being of our communities.

KHSC opened the first college of osteopathic medicine in Kansas, the Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (KansasCOM) in 2022, and aims to be instrumental in helping to increase health care resources for underserved communities across the state and beyond. To train medical professionals for this task, they integrate emerging technology, artificial intelligence, ethics, entrepreneurship, and diversity principles throughout the curriculum. In addition, they weave clinical experiences into the first year of study, giving students immediate access to working with patients. Graduates will be prepared to lead the next generation of osteopathic health care professionals in compassionate and integrated health care practices, able to address the needs of diverse communities everywhere.

Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (KansasCOM) has been granted pre-accreditation status from the American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA). COCA is the accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) for predoctoral education of osteopathic physicians in the United States.
